Did you know that Anne’s studio is located in an old converted warehouse just East of downtown Sydney?
The building manager is a very nice young fellow who probably wondered what on earth went on in our space when Anne first moved in. A constant stream of pregnant women and women carrying babies would pass by heading for the studio.
He mentioned a few months ago that his wife was expecting a baby, so Anne of course asked him to let us know when the baby was born. As luck would have it, the baby was born right before we were about to photograph some newborns for Anne’s new book, (title soon) so Anne invited them to come into the studio and she would photograph their new daughter, whose name is Lilli. (There are some real benefits being in touch daily with the studio!)
Anyway, the mother brought Lilli in, and the father made sure he changed a lot of light bulbs and did a lot of maintenance in Anne’s studio that morning; of course so that he could see his daughter being photographed as he was still on duty! (He was invited, naturally, and yes the building owner was happy he attended.)
They loved the experience, and Anne captured a beautiful image of their gorgeous little daughter. Each day we ask him how little Lilli is going…it’s lovely to be able to keep in touch on such a regular basis and know how the babies Anne has photographed are getting along.
(Also we have never a problem with a light bulb going out!!!)
